WellMed Senior Services Long Term Care Program
WellMed Senior Services (formerly Princeton Senior Services) was developed in 1997 under the direction of Medical Director, Paul D. Garcia, MD., Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, Past President of the Texas Geriatric Society, Past President of AMDA, currently President of MAPA, and voted best doctor in San Antonio. The WellMed Senior Services (WSS) program is a unique model designed specifically to meet the needs of patients residing in long term care facilities. These physicians work with WellMed medical groups throughout San Antonio and have a specific interest in the care of nursing home patients. Most have additional formal training and practical experience in Geriatrics, and on-going advanced training is a part of the regular Patient Care Committee format. Goals of the program include the development of best-practices guidelines for documentation and medical management; provisions of the highest quality health care; and communication and education in Nursing Homes to patients, families and staff.
