Specialists

Sometimes your WellMed Primary Care Physician may recommend you see a specialist to help diagnose or treat a medical condition. A specialist is a medical doctor who is knowledgeable and trained in a particular field, for example, podiatry, cardiologist, dermatology.

To make the referral process easy for our patients, we provide a Referral Coordinator at each clinic. It is this person’s responsibility to coordinate the care between you primary care physician and the specialist. This is referred to ask our “one-stop process.”

Although you are still required to be referred to a specialist, WellMed currently has 4 types of specialists on-staff: Podiatry, Dermatology, Wound Care, and Gerontologist.
