In 2008, WellMed partnered with the City of San Antonio’s Department of Community Initiatives to offer free flu shot clinics at more than 30 events and various nutrition centers around San Antonio. In 2009, the Foundation funded a campaign promoting free flu shots for homebound seniors to help build awareness about various social services available through WellMed and the City of San Antonio, such as free transportation to medical appointments, prescription medication assistance, etc.
